2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road
Hello everyone! I thought I'd finally add my 2024 TRD Off-Road premium to the build list here! Purchased the truck in June 2024 and have been chipping away at upgrades. The goal is to be able to camp and do some light off roading with it as well as my daily driver. The color and spec is exactly what I wanted and I'm very happy to have this as my first pickup(mostly Audis before this). I have more photos, videos and discount codes on my Instgram : @braaadyyota
Below are my current modifications.

Exterior
  • Relations Race wheels | RR7-H 17x8.5 +25
  • Falken Wildpeak AT4W 285/75/17
  • No lift/level - Very minor cutting to front bumper so far
  • Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro ditch lights
  • Lasfit DRL turn signal LEDs
  • Cornfed Suspension front and rear soft shackle recovery mounts
  • SXTH Element off road trail pipe
  • Perry Parts rear bump stops
  • TripleALiner & OEM bed mat
  • PPF on front clip, mirrors, A pillars, leading edge of roof and leading edge of bed sides
  • 50% windshield tint, 30% front window tint
Interior
  • TripleALiner and Lasfit floor mats
  • Muslogy center console organizer and lid storage
  • ScreenproTech screen protector kit
Future Plans
  • Just picked up an iKamper mini 2.0, planning on getting the Xtrusion Overland XBRS rack
  • Diode Dynamics SS6 fog lights
  • TRD Pro grille w/light bar w/out raptor lights
  • Eibach lift kit?
  • SXTH Element intake

Can you please tell me about the windshield tint, is it the whole thing?

How is the clarity?
I think it's great. I can't tell there's a film on there. It's very clear just like any tint nowadays. Of course it's a slightly harder to see at night but it's not much and does not bother me, Especially with how bright the OEM lights are. Once you get down to 20% it will be a lot harder to see out of a windshield.

I’m not sure what just the windshield would be. $150 maybe. I did tint and PPF all at once so I don’t know the breakdown. The windshield is 50% and the two front windows(driver and passenger) are at 30% to match the rear windows.

I had Falken Wldpeak 285/75/17’s initially installed but I ended up hating the “riding on balloons” feeling. It felt very floaty and unplanted on the freeway, especially on sweeping curved sections of the road.

After 350 miles I swapped to a set of 275/70/17’s and could not be happier. I feel this is the Goldilocks size for the 4th generation Tacoma.

Yeah I totally get that. I just have stock tires to compare it to and coming from an Audi S4 no matter what it’s not as planted. I do minimal freeway driving so it doesn’t affect me much but I could see how one would want something that feels different. I think the bounce when hitting uneven dips is what bugs me, but I’m sure that’s much more to do with the suspension.

I love the stance on this truck, super tough looking.

I wonder what level of lift would have allowed those tires without trimming...

Thanks I appreciate it! I’m debating on getting just 10mm wheel spacers but money can be better spent elsewhere.

I think just a minimal level would be all I would need. It only rubbed on the driver side when turning in reverse. That’s on pavement but I have not tested it off road yet so we’ll see how it does!

At roughly 68 pounds the tires are heavy, but I do like the look!

That's my biggest con with these tires and also why I was highly debating the Toyo Open Country AT3s but I couldn't get over the boring sidewall on those and the great reviews on these. 15 miles a day city driving for the most part so I got over it lol. I might try something else next time!
