I went from a '25 TRD OR to my '26 Trailhunter and love the creature comforts... otherwise, the standard capabilities of the truck are mostly the same. Yes, I'd still do it again. Built in camera system, ventilated seats, and swaybar disconnect are what lured me. Dave Ramsey would disown me, but this thing is very much a toy for me so i bit the bullet to get exactly what I wanted the 2nd time around.

Yea. No good reason other than that I'm a good consumer lol and it's not 100% break even with some of the mods I can't remove and doc fees, probably loose a couple grand total and go from owing $12K after the camper sale to $38K with a new Pro initially, but all things considered, it's not unreasonable or completely stupid to me. Financially responsible ? Absolutely not lol but in the world of cars/trucks the numbers aren't bad. And no dealer in my state will go below $70 for that rig in that color. Even if I show them some other pricing they're basically like "Cool. Go get it then."

Still a lot of money though!

Owing 38k?! Daaaaaang man in that case, not sure I'd make the jump to the Pro. That is a LOT of money to owe to the bank for a truck that won't be able to get you any farther into the woods than your SR5.

Honestly your SR5 looks just as good as a Pro, and the polished Methods make it look way more unique. The Blue Crush is a great color too.

Definitely think about it.

Well I mean that's initially! I bought my SR5 in Nov. Down to 12k or whatever in less than a year. I don't like those balances to sit

I have had my Pro for almost two years now and I absolutely love it. I have had multiple off road trucks and multiple Tacos, but this is nicest truck I have ever owned.

So unless you can't handle the limited rear seat legroom I say go for it. The limited legroom and loss of the underseat storage are its only negatives IMO, and I don't really care about either one.

Do whatever you want/can afford. I've got the TrailHunter and because of things I couldn't live without i.e. blindspot detection, "HOLD" button, 360 cameras. Its worth noting that I put 30G down from the settlement because my 4Runner was totaled. I can't say that you're missing out on much but looks. As @CAMTuning said, many of us keep vehicles for a long time. Sell the camper if you want and upgrade your truck like @Mammoth 4Runner/Tacoma. I'd get the car you love (and can afford) or love the car you get (and can afford).

Two things:

1. You only live once. Do what makes you happy. You could get hit by a bus tomorrow.

2. Spend the money, you can’t take it with you.

I traded my ‘24 in Blue Crush, for the exact same truck - a ‘26 in Mudbath. Yup, only traded it in because I wanted Mudbath. Numbers made sense, in the end $40 less a month, interest rates dropped, hopefully I’ll be out of the first year issues of the Tacoma. I just see it as losing two years of payments and I’m starting over brand new again. Warranty reset too. First two years went by so quickly, I’ll never notice

Comes down to your age, income, investments, other financial obligations, etc.
I'm not saying you should share all that here but, that's what it comes down to.

We do a little extra "yolo-ing" after one of the kids almost died of cancer. I try to strike a balance, but often times, I'm just like @Sner said "Could die tomorrow! YOLO!"

If you don’t plan on using the rear seats much, I say go for it! Like others have said, you can’t take the cash with you when you die, so might as well spend it when you’re alive. You get to start over messing around with modding your truck again also. If you like the color, found a good deal, you’re not selling the house to pay for it…..in the words of vintage Nike “just do it”!
