I placed my order for the JBL system 8 speaker system on the 29th. They have not shipped mine either. Though I guess it said something like 3-5 days processing before shipping when I ordered it.
Are you installing any amplification with this setup? I would like to hear you review on the speakers when you get the chance. Thanks!

I have everything sitting in my garage waiting for the opportunity to install it. I also picked up sound deadening material, figured why the hell not.

Did you order the speaker set listed in this thread or something else? If you did I’m curious how long it took you to get yours?

I ordered on 8/25 and still no shipping notification even though when I called I was told it was shipping yesterday.

Why post a product if you can’t ship it in a timely manner? If I don’t have a shipping notification by Monday I’m canceling my order and will go a different route.

I ordered on a Thursday evening and had it on Monday. Perhaps in your case they are getting swamped with orders, it is a good deal.

I called them because I ordered two weeks ago. They said they were out of some of the brackets and were waiting for them to arrive. It may ship next week. Kind of annoyed when the site says it is in stock when you order.

exactly, why post a new product that’s ready to ship only to not have what you need in stock to fulfill the order. Had I known it was delayed I would have never ordered. After looking at other options I may still cancel and go a different route.

Need to ask yourselves if you have any interest to add a real amp later...
If you do, these aren't the speaker...
Then again, a real speaker wont function well with the either 2 of the factory options.
Alpine R's components & coaxials would smoke these speakers in sound & performance amongst many other options.
All this plug & play stuff is just fluff, its all available.
Even if you dont want to deal with it, stereo installs are dirt cheap these days, lots of competition, if you find the right shop....

I would disagree. You and others that have gone all in are spending over $3k on a system. The other guy spend over $5k. I have shopped a good system and it would be just under $3k. That is not cheap. This option while I am sure better than JBL and not as good as yours or the other guy is a DIY option for $500. You are comparing apples and oranges.

Not comparing apples to oranges, just be certain youre not going to want more before you start or will be a waste of money.
Im just pointing out, these speakers are designed to operate on low power, so your mind better be made up that you're not going to go crazy after the fact & go all in....
As theyre designed to be efficient with low power,
It is what it is at the end,
If you decide youre not happy with the outcome, & you decide to add an amp to them....
You could have done way better in the component speaker dept by just spending a little more.

You hook up an amp to these & they will just be alright compared to what else is out there.
I understand not everyone has to have a great system, just cuz its important to me, doesnt mean it is to everyone else....

Alpine R2 would so much better than this kit, but you need power behind them, just saying.

If youre 100% ok with just a slight improvement, these will work.....
That being said the JBL isnt horrible for what it is....
They sound clean, as long as you ditch the center channel.

$500 for the beatsonic dsp amp is a rip-off....
yes alpine r2's are slightly more
6.5 & tweeter, $400
6.5 coixial for rear door $320
you will need an amp, alpine makes a dsp amp that will also power a sub nicely....
but you dont have to dsp it, & just let it crank, will sound awesome with an average amp from stinger....

https://creativeaudio.net/pxe-c80-8... 2 + 300W X 2 @ 2 Open Box - Open Box | $1200

Just my rear coaxial door speakers cost more than that entire kit....
Just love my system....
I'm getting the same groundshaker TW7 box installed this Wednesday! Hertz speakers all around.

How does the sub perform in that enclosure?

Oh, just saw the recent bits of the conversation.

Sound is important to me, and after shopping all options from a $300 kicker hideaway.. I just decided to bite the bullet and drop $5200. I got the cheap off road to begin with, so Ifigure this is basically like getting the JBL but a bit better :)

The 12" tw3?
Is amazing, dont waste your time with the 10"
I played around with inserting some filler in the box, sounds better without from my quick try.
One of the installers I was trying to decide between recommended the higher end Hertz door speakers.
Think they were the Mille Legends, Not The Mille Pros, but either way, great speakers, should do good!
Box is built well, its taking a beating & staying together.
No room to put amps under the seat so amps need to go behind the seat.
Mine are hidden behind the plastics where theJBL sub use to be.

Back of my head sometimes I wonder how the system would have sounded with the Hertz speakers...
He wanted to install a Hertz 7" in the front door along with a bigger tweeter......

I was all about the Focals due to the name & rep. They do good, sound very clean & plenty loud.

Needless to say I went a different route // installer.
Still more than happy.

Have 2 Hertz 10' MPS shallow subs behind the seat of my sons single cab ranger.
They do great but the 1 12" jl TW3 does better in my truck but could be for numerous reasons...
Amp selection is probably the biggest factor

I’m in the Baltimore area and it isn’t a far ride for me, haven’t thought too hard about upgrading the sound system but can definitely see the value at times when I am almost maxing out the volume if I have a window openand still not hearing a song to its fullest. I reached out to them about the bypass someone posted above. Anyone know how this normally works? Would they just expiriment on my truck with the bypass and then revert it back to stock before they release me to the wilds again?
