I am curious as to whether you changed your tires and/or wheels for those conditions. Any chance you’re using the stock tires?
What inflation (psi) were you running in the snow?

Thanks for letting me pick your brain. I have not yet had the truck in the snow and it is the same configuration as yours. I live just north of Southern California (Central Coast).

This is Upper Squamish Valley... from main FSR you take any of the roads that go up in the mountains

I changed the tires to Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT. I have few other offroad vehicles and I use them on all my offroaders. I find them extremly good in any condition especially snow. They have snow flake rating as well. I was at 15 PSI here but on the snow I would go sometimes to 8-10 PSI if i have to.

I’m curious if you changed the stock size of your mickey thompson tires? Did you go up or stay the same size? Also, are you running an E load rating or a C?
Thanks

I went up, from 265 to 285 and load rating is E.

My load is on the order of 2000-3000 so would likely get Load C….sounds prudent to you?
Appreciate the insight.
Load C may be ok for the weight you have but I would go with E just for toughness and trail abuse. It's one thing driving on paved roads and totally another when rocks start gouging your side walls. Load E has tougher side walls and everything else. I think load C is like 6 ply while E is 10 ply.

I put the same tire, 275/70, on our TH. Have only been in snow with them twice now. Performed much better than I expected. After decades of running KO/KO2s on my vehicles, the Mickey's are at least as good. Was time to try something different.

Thanks for sharing the video.
