I can get in my hybrid with a charge of 12.2 volts, drive it all day and it will still be 12.2 volts. I think they are designed this way, but I have no idea why.

I charged it up with a battery maintainer once and it got to 12.85 volts, which is fully charged. But within a week it was down to 12.08 volts even with regular use. My service department mentioned a trickle charger, basically admitting there is a problem. I am happy with just carrying a jump pack and I will get an Optima yellow top when the truck kills the battery it came with.

These trucks are always clicking, whirring, or making some kind of noise. No wonder the batteries go dead.

Just wait until they start putting AI in them. You know it’s coming. It'll be like having your own personal HAL 9000, and we all know how that turned out.

"Unlock the door, Hal."
"I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that."
Lolol. True!

Not a hybrid owner, but similar observations.
I got a handy battery monitor from anti gravity that I’d recommend. I have the aux switches and 180amp alternator. The truck always starts but not with a lot of confidence.

The battery was warranty replaced back in may (truck sat before sale) and it hasn’t been a daily driver.
this week is has been, and I had 12.3v starting voltage, or 50% charge leaving work today.
That was in 75 degree weather, so it will be interesting to see how it keeps up as it cools off.

I moved the low charge alert down to 45% to minimize notifications after this photo.

I’m probably going to upgrade to an optima yellow top because I’ve had great luck with them in the past and I’d recommend the battery monitor to anyone wanting to data log the battery.
