Gray has been go-to vehicle color for past 20 years. I decided for this truck I was going to go wild and go with something exotic like Silver :p. Of course the allocation that's available in my area, in the right spec and at the right price is... Gray.

Talked to the wife and she's not a big fan of giving up power seats and leather. Working on locking down a reservation for a Sport with Premium Package and only a single $150 edge guard mark up. It's not my preferred color but given it's the only one i'm seeing like that in all of SoCal i'm not sure i should hold out.
Loos like there are several Allocated to CA as of today with the premium package. I spot check a few and they have minimal if any add ons. Here are a few:

I’m with @bayman here. In BC the tax rate goes from 12 to 15% if a vehicle costs more than $55,000. The Sport premium hits the $71k mark with tax.
I will go for the base sport and save $10,000.

I wish red came on the lower models but in Canada you have to get the premium to have that option.

So I switched my order from Sport to Off Road, still keeping it under $55K. @Curleybill56 all that was available was the shades of gray (white/black/silver/gray) in the 1st allocation, so I’m set to get a Solar Octane Off Road in the 2nd one. About August 11 if no delays.
I could have had one earlier if I was flexible on colour.

Wasn't looking at Sport Premium going in, but took delivery of my TRD Sport Premium this past Saturday. HUGE upgrade from my 2016. Loving it so far!

I look at it this way:

My allocation that I grabbed was perfect at $44,200. I got heated seats, gun metal inserts and mud guards.

Now for the typical $8,000 premium upgrade that I ignored, this is what I got when I walked out of the dealer with a final price of $52k.

1) I covered sales tax and registration.

2) I extended my warranty/maint. options to 10 year, 100,000 miles.

3) I had the dealer install level kit (labor and alignment) and 265/70 BFG ko2's.

4) Plus added bed mat, TRD air filter, scuff guards, all-weather floor mats.

With the TRD Sport premium upgrade, that would be around $52k just walking in with no other add-ons.

I always tell everyone, shop around and do not be afraid to get lower options and have room to customize it. This is my first TRD Sport, coming from SR5 and SR models before.

I got the sport for travel and comfort, so the premium was worth the extra money to me. No regrets at all

I’m in Canada and went with the sport plus option. Half way between base and premium.

I don’t get leather cooled seats and the big screen with panoramic views. I don’t really need that stuff though. I got everything I wanted and saved a few thousand dollars.

I did add the running boards as an extra.
