Does anyone out there know how to arrange the 12V outlet in the bed to stay hot, even when the truck engine is not running?
Thanks, Bill

The only way would be to run a new wire directly from the battery to the 12-volt outlet. I'm sure Toyota doesn't do it this way to prevent the battery from being run down to the point where it can't start the engine.

Would have been really nice if the bed power was controlled by a dash switch regardless of ignition position. It can certainly be done with aftermarket stuff.

My work-around for that is to plug a jackery into the outlet that charges up while I drive and discharges to the devices I need plugged in all the time.
Yep, I am doing something similar with my Jackery too have power whenever I need it, and it lasts a lot longer than running off of the truck battery.

Yep, that's my plan too! I was hoping someone might know a better way. This is probably the safest way, to not run the battery down.

I was excited about the inverter until I realized this limitation.

Surely there could be some logic not to discharge under 20%. Would be great for cell phones, fans, or other lowish draw appliances.
