Does the Trailhunter trim come stock with a resonator?

I've been doing some research on axle-dump exhaust installation for my 24 OR and found this OEM piece (thanks to a member on this forum): https://theyotagarage.com/products/...ail-exhaust-dump-pipe-2024-toyota-tacoma-copy

I also found this video where the guy, to install a different axle-dump exhaust, removes both the old exhaust tip and the resonator that comes before it:

So, if the OEM axle-dump exhaust installation requires a resonator delete, does the Trailhunter even have a resonator?

I just picked up my axle dump tip this week and it does now come with the hanger, at least mine did.

Is there any disadvantage to the axle-dump exhaust ?

Seems like a better design and would save manufacturing cost

Yeah I just got mine from Fred Anderson Toyota and wasn't sure if they were just making them or the design changed. I thought they didn't in other installs I have seen.

The price also just increased so maybe that's the reason.

Installed trail pipe, piece of cake. Jack the truck up from the receiver about a foot. This’ll allow you to finagle the exhaust out.

And I feel like I got a decent price on it

To revive the thread, anyone have concerns with exhaust dumps and potential rust? Seems like all that accumulation under the truck could speed up the process.

Not worried about rust. But I am worried about the extra heat getting dumped on the rear diff and axle. Oh and the carbon soot as the engine ages.

Solid points I hadn't thought of. I've been thinking of doing it, but solely based on appearance not functionality. The more I look at the truck the more I think it'll be just fine having the exhaust dump out the side instead of under, no matter how slick it looks.

It looks SUPER clean. I plan to own this truck for 10+ years though and I'd hate for something so small to set me back early. Damn monkey mind is bouncing me all over the place.

It’s not a big difference. Mostly only noticeable during cold start. Maybe a decibel or two through out the rpm range after rhat. The resonator does seem to smooth out the exhaust tone though.

I would look into getting a Carista unit and turning off the fake exhaust noise if I were you. That might quiet your cabin down.
