Huh, I don’t know. I know my cord was under all the accessories that came with the box, and I just decided to pull everything from the box before I cut up my Dongar harness. I tried the long one you’re talking about and it didn’t work for me, YMMV.
I found an unboxing video that shows a shorter USB data cable that came in a smaller bag. Are you talking about this cable?

That is the very cable. That and my USB A-C adapter has kicked on parking mode for me.

Wow I can't believe someone finally figured this out... I ended up cutting up the dome light connector from the Dongar pro plus a hardwire kit.... but I still have my rearveiw mirror one hooked up I'm gonna try this tonight

I can get Dongar Pro in T mode with the Viofo A229 Pro into parking mode like this:

Dongar Pro <-> USB-C to USB-A Adapter <-> Original Viofo USB Cable <-> Viofo A229

After 2-3 minutes of not moving, the Viofo will automatically enter parking mode.

Upon inspecting the original Viofo cable, it appears the D+ and D- lines are shorted. This is sometimes known as a USB charging cable (as opposed to data cable). However, the short USB-C to USB-C cable shipped by Dongar does not have those lines shorted which is why I believe your Viofo does not enter parking mode.

Viofo mentions the importance of the original cable here:

In case you want/need to test parking mode at home, you can use our original car charge cable or the short data cable and wait for 5 minutes quietly as per the below video.

https://support.viofo.com/support/s...se-an-external-battery-pack-for-parking-mode-

So, I have been looking into getting or making a short USB-C to USB-C "charging only" cable with the D+ and D- lines shorted. I believe this will allow the Viofo camera to automatically trigger parking mode. However, I have read that some people have issues getting the camera out of parking mode without shutting the camera down. I haven't investigated this issue yet.
Holy hell I can't believe this works. Great work on finding this solution. I got a generic Anker USB-C to USB-A adapter and used the short cable that came with the Viofo and it finally was able to activate parking mode.

I think this is something @Dongar can easily implement with a custom cable.
