I tore open the back to look for ECU wiring and I cant find it... unless the wiring is not terminated and just wrapped in electrical tape..... ... It has to be somewhere because I dont think toyota used separate wiring harnesses, it wouldn't make sense. hence the button wiring is present

It should be here, but all I found was this extra blue connector which doesnt have enough pins to be the stabilizer ECU

Somebody said the way Tacoma 4G is designed it will be really easy to add an aftermarket sway bar (disconnect). So somebody will probably come out with a nice one in 1-2 years.

I’m going to add sound deadening to the back in about 3 weeks I’ll take some pictures then. Let me know what you’re looking for?

Hi @turnermier . great research.

can you find out what is this part doing in a 2020 4runner?

https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~computer~stabilizer~89271-60031.html

the part number for 2024-2025 Tacoma with SDM is also 89271A.

@turnermier i did some research and the "Instrument Panel Wiring Harness" is separate from the "Wire, Floor". the SDM switch is on the "Instrument Panel Wiring Harness" which should be same for non-SDM and SDM Tacomas.

The "Wire, Floor" is the harness that has the connector for the SDM ECU and there are several part numbers for it. and then there is a "Wire, Frame".

look for 82161-AK250, 82164-AK130. there are like 20 part numbers for "Wire, Floor" and "Wire, Frame". it's not too difficult to swap this harness but at what cost! this project will need a donor Tacoma with SDM. And then there might be an aftermarket solution which will be much easier to install in maybe 1 year.
