Hey Guys - I have been waiting to issue this review to give the new tires a fair chance. I’ve put about 500 miles or so on them. At first I was not happy with the ride (a bit stiff) but once I got the PSI dialed in just right (34 front, 33 rear), the ride is still firm but nice and smooth...
The Falken is almost silent except maybe between 20-40 mph where there’s a slight hum but it sounds nice. My only knock on it is that it’s a pretty hard tire and for it to ride decently you need to be around 34 psi and not much higher (in E load). It’s great in the wet and appears to be...
No. It’s working fine (aside from the weird stuff others have mentioned).
And to be clear - it’s my daily driver and I’m not holding back. I just hate that I spent this much and am never certain about whether the transmission will explode.
No. I love the truck. And I’m not super torqued up about this honestly, save for when I’m thinking about possibly getting stranded in the middle of nowhere. What would make me happy is a clear statement from Toyota explaining what the issue is and a means for me to resolve it in Houston at a...
You have faith in the replacement transmissions? Seems like they have no clue what’s wrong with them—which makes sense because why would a major auto maker be able to figure out what’s wrong with thousands of transmissions made by their captive supplier?
Man. I’ve got a TH too. Sorry this happened to you. What in the ever living fuck did Ausin/Toyota do to shit the bed so hard on these transmissions ?
My 275/70/18 Falken AT4Ws look great but ride really rough / hard. Wondering if I should switch to these.
Anyone have experience with both? If anyone is in Houston with the KO3s ... let me know! I'd love to do a comparison.
I put 275/70/18s which are almost an inch taller and my speed still shows I’m 1-2pm mph slower than GPS lol…. Guess I need to go even bigger.
I drove 150+ miles today at 65-75 mph and it was off 2mph most of the way (showing 2mph slower than actual)
I guess I’d expect that - but if I’m running a fridge and some other equipment it all depends on how often the engine has to cycle as to whether it would be annoying
My hybrid trailhunter doesn’t shake at 40 but the engine randomly gets loud / rougher than normal and no idea why. So far it is not bad enough that it bothers me.
I went to E load 275/70/18 Falkens. I was shocked at how little it impacted performance and noise, but also shocked as to how bumpy they are. Small bumps are felt and big hits hit way harder. I went from 38 at the shop down to 31. 31 is super comfy but I’m not sure it’s a safe pressure for an...
