Yeah - that was a really dumb decision on Toyota's part and it has cost them a lot of respect. Why build a tough truck with great towing capability and leave something so crucial out?
We sure have reached that day, and it has been coming on slowly for some time.
And it's not just trucks either. I bought a high end home theater sound system and it doesn't work properly and the vendor (Crutchfield) has not been able to diagnose the problem. They are known for their product...
Yep - the setting are good until you change them and the subscription is only needed if your want to make more changes.
That is exactly what I found too - I was surprised at how much better mine sounds with the BS amp.
Hey @Mightyquinn, welcome to the family! You are so going to love that Pro, maybe even more than you expect. My truck is far and away the best truck I have ever owned and I just feel lucky to have snagged one.
I think that you can just keep on posting in this thread as the process goes along...
I am only at 2k miles, but my mileage continues to improve. Just today I got 20.4 mpg for a mostly freeway drive of 25 miles. Last week the same drive got my 19.7 mpg. My mileage also made a noticeable improvement when I installed a tonneau.
Yeah - towing has always been a mileage killer for a midsize truck. My 2nd gen mileage was cut in half towing any larger trailer/load. That is actually what got me into a Tundra for a while. It had so much power that the mileage hardly changed with a trailer - it was terrible all of the time. :)
Turning off that nasty chime was one of the first things I did with my Carista. It is a straightforward process and easy to do.
I had my dealer turn that off in my Tundra because I drove it on a private gravel road and it was irritating as hell. Some dealers resist making that change, which is...
It wasn't meant as an insult, it just seems like you bought the wrong truck if you find yours "sketchy". I doubt that Toyota ever intended that the Tacoma be the equivalent to an expensive, luxury SUV, no matter how nice the halo trims are.
To me it seems a bit odd to compare your Tacoma to...
If one of the nicest, best handling, and most comfortable off road trucks ever is sketchy, then you bought the wrong truck.
Can we show something in a nice Honda SUV with a bed?
The fact that the 4th gen is a real truck is why I own one, and that is not a drawback. If I wanted a luxury car (already have one) or a sports car (just sold one) that is what I would have bought.
For a midsize pickup the Tacoma has the road manners and performance of our dreams. It is not...
I did the subscription for a year so I could have it all sorted out and then I will cancel it. If it was cheaper I would keep the subscription going, but I think it is kind of expensive.
