I will grab a picture of that today.
You really didn't go much beyond stock, which is why I don't understand the problem. Let's see how tight it is on my truck.
I would get an alignment just to be sure you haven't changed the front end with the new wheels and different tires. But on the other hand you might have pushed the envelope just a bit too much and will need thin aftermarket flaps - and there are some good choices out there.
That is what surprised me too. I have never heard anyone say these flap rubbed, so I just assumed they would be fine. I assume you had an alignment done after the new wheels and tires, correct? So I don't understand what is different on your truck.
And I would want front and rear flaps that...
You still have options, but too bad you spent that money on flaps that won't fit. You might try selling them here because they would be good for all the stock trucks.
There are good aftermarket flaps that are thin and don't intrude much at all. That could be your next move.
Hey @tacorancher, paint on the side of your truck is highly overrated anyway. :)
I didn't think they intruded into the wheel well much further than the OEM ones. Maybe that is why Toyota put those tiny little shit flaps on at the factory, because there isn't much room with larger tires. They...
Yeah it does look kind of matte. I would finish it up with microfibre cloth and then apply the screen protector. It is hard to tell from that picture if the finish is matte or if that is what they all look like in direct sun.
My dream 4th gen would have all the goodies from my Pro in your truck's body. Now that would be perfect, and even more so if it had access doors like my 2nd gen.
BTW both of my MR2s were AW10s ('86 & '88) and I still miss them. A good friend had one like yours and it was such fun to drive and...
Toyota has had a plant in Long Beach since 1972, so it sounds like they might have supplemented their Mexican production with the Long Beach plant. This is the first time I have heard about that and it is very interesting, because it might show us how Toyota gets past tariffs on trucks built in...
I'm sure that's true and all three probably have the same rear control arms. I hope they make them and they aren't crazy expensive. Wouldn't mind that Surf concept either.
Thanks for that update @mawaukee - I think that is what a lot of people are hoping for. Cars and trucks are so expensive anymore, that a small increase would hardly be noticed.
It could just apply to US car companies though, and not to foreign brands. I guess it is wait and see time.
Nothing yet AFAIK.
Toyota sets the MSRP and dealers work from that. If or when tariffs affect prices I think it will first come from Toyota in the form of increased MSRPs. If what dealers pay is the Toyota wholesale price plus the tariff then I think dealers will pass it straight through to...
