i went with the plain foil backed foam pads from amazon
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09MCSZ6G7?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1

and the Victory engine cover with Dynamat on underside.
They both help "somewhat"/
Great idea to add deadening material under an engine cover. Hoping clearance will be ok but perhaps spacers could be added to the cover installation brackets if needed.

I had looked into engine covers recently since having rat diners chew up my ignition coils cost me a tidy bundle…but the covers I found didn’t offer any such protection. My truck isn’t noisy since it comes with a sounding pad under the hood and has the thicker Trailhunter snobby glass. The only noise I could hear was my crying because of the rat damage.

If you put a mike under every modern car hood you would get same or similar sounds. Easiest fix is Dynamat under the hood and it can be applied everywhere so better than those sound mats from the factory. USA has to get used to 4cyl sounds. Unlikely this kiwi would complain as I grew up with 4 bangers.

My last oil change I switched to 5W-30, engine is a lot quieter now. Yes I’m aware Toyota recommends only 0W-20
I would keep the same grade but switch to a high quality oil like Amsoil. If you had engine problems and the dealer found out the change then it would be a world of hurt for your wallet.

I definitely like the price of Amazon's soundproof mat compared to the one Toyota sells. Just curious, do you feel this made a noticeable difference in reducing engine noise inside the cabin? Also did the Amazon product come with clips/grommets for attaching mat to underside of hood, and did the holes in mat align with corresponding holes in underside of hood, or did you have to drill any new holes ? Sure looks much nicer than the adhesive applied square sound panels.
The Zekzoop mat in the link appears to be the same as the one I installed on my 2025 Off Road non-premium. The installation was easy with supplied fasteners and existing holes. However, I would describe any noise reduction as minimal. I still hear the clattery diesel noise at times when the engine is heavily loaded. Mine is a manual transmission so I suppose the automatics may downshift and not have the same racket as when mine is at lower revs and higher load. I do not lug my engine but I do often use moderate to heavy throttle at revs below 3000. I think that's when the marbles start bouncing around the coffee can. BTW are there still those big, steel coffee cans?
