So I’m working on my Tacoma build, I have a 2024 TRD OR Hybrid. Latest and greatest addition was this custom made rear seat delete.

My boy Dakota Bush, over at KDR Industries in Billings, MT, made this custom platform. The platform is a two piece design running on hinges for easy access to the hybrid battery. The platform has a built in L-track and retains the use of the four backseat anchor points for tying down gear. It locks to the backseat frame, has sound mat for the road noise, weatherstripping for stability, and was finished off in bedliner material for grip. This thing is stout and exactly what I wanted for my build.

If you're interested in one of them, reach out to him below. He kept all the dimensions and can reproduce it.

Great photo lay out, and good info. My dogs are small so I just lay the back seat backs down and use a solid kydex sheet across the back to cover and hold items in the space available. The only thing missing from your photo's is how the upper corner of the back panel on the driver's side is secured. I am able to secure the passenger and middle of the sheet, but not that corner. How'd he do that?

That looks clean! Just starting to look at something like this, but to me it looks better than the one by Goose Gear.

That looks really well built. How much does it weigh?

The ONLY thing that I would change, which you can DIY, is to cut down the excess length on the latch screws. I know you can't see them when the panel is closed but it still bothers me. 😂

Unrelated question:
Do your rear MOLLE panels fold down?

This one is pretty stout. We were discussing using aluminum for the panel, but I went with 10 gauge steel for rigidity and cost. I’m sure you can cut the weight with aluminum, but it wasn’t the most important part to me and I wanted it to be extremely rigid and durable.

Yea, I noticed those bolts too. I’ll probably trim them up for aesthetic purpose.

No, the panel was from SXTH Element, it doesn’t fold down. That would be a cool feature, but with the weight I’m wanting it to be holding up when I’m done, a folding feature might cause issues.

I was looking at Goose Gear too, but it was crazy expensive and because of the hybrid battery system, there wasn’t going to be much storage space. I really wanted the platform to be as low profile as possible so I could use as much space in the back as I could. The GG platform sits up pretty high off the backseat frame. To me that was just wasted space if it couldn’t be effectively used for storage.

I’m pretty sure it’s just resting on the preexisting platform. It was fitted specifically, but I can look and see what was done.

Well done. I’m currently working on a seat delete for my truck and I might have to steal some of your design!
