Looking for ideas on where to buy or fabricate a screen for the air intake of my cabin filter. Looking for the dimensions for a owner fabricated screen and perhaps installation ideas.

Any home improvement store should have a type of mesh screen or chicken wire.

Do you know where the intake is? I've looked and can't find it.
I believe it is on the passenger side under the hood and under the cover just below the wipers. There are some youtube videos showing the location. I was hoping to try to get the size of the hole from someone who has made this mode as there is the potential to fabricate a screen and drop it in without too much disassembly.

Facebook link of a mouse nest on a cabin filter of a 4th generation Tacoma. I believe that the mice chew through the plastic to gain entry. Not sure if the Facebook link is getting through. If it fails again I will attempt to send the pic. Based on what I'm seeing though it looks like a relatively easy fix using a more robust screen.

Driving for 40+ years I’ve never had any rodents in my car or any of my friends and families car. Unless you live near tons of rodents this would be of zero concerns.

As I said, they aren't going to get through that screen. How they got in with the link you've shown, is a mystery. I had the issue with my third-gen, and there was lots of room for a mouse to squeeze through.

I don't think this is a common problem with this Taco gen, or there would be other photos floating around.

You asked for a measurement. Don't you own a tape measure? I'm not trying to be a jerk.
