I swapped out the stock rear springs in my Tacoma for the Alldogs Offroad springs, due to added weight (skid plates, sliders) and for better performance towing off-road (about 1.75" of sag on stock rear springs when towing). While the performance when towing is perfect, I am not enjoying the harsher ride and rattling in the rear when not towing (95% of the time).
I am thinking about reverting back to the stock rear springs and installing the LoadLifter 5000 air bags. I would also install cradles to prevent tearing of the air bags during full suspension travel when off-road. Airing up/down the air bags is a nonissue for me; I always carry an air compressor with me and routinely air down when I hit trails.
Do I sound like a good candidate for this? Anyone install airbags on the 4th gen Tacoma? Or any other truck for that matter, and have positive/negative opinions?
