I swapped out the stock rear springs in my Tacoma for the Alldogs Offroad springs, due to added weight (skid plates, sliders) and for better performance towing off-road (about 1.75" of sag on stock rear springs when towing). While the performance when towing is perfect, I am not enjoying the harsher ride and rattling in the rear when not towing (95% of the time).

I am thinking about reverting back to the stock rear springs and installing the LoadLifter 5000 air bags. I would also install cradles to prevent tearing of the air bags during full suspension travel when off-road. Airing up/down the air bags is a nonissue for me; I always carry an air compressor with me and routinely air down when I hit trails.

Do I sound like a good candidate for this? Anyone install airbags on the 4th gen Tacoma? Or any other truck for that matter, and have positive/negative opinions?

I installed them. I like them a lot. My situation is similar to yours, except I don't tow, my load is on the truck. Rack, tent, coolers, overlanding stuff. But, I'm unloaded most of the time, like you. I took a trip to the white rim trail prior to putting in the airlift. I used Timbren springs and still had a lot of sag. So, I was able to return those and I got the Airlift. Bring able to control it is exactly what I wanted. Air up when needed, return to stock suspension when I don't. (Yes, I keep 5 lbs of pressure in it as the manufacturer recommended). I did install the cradles for off roading, they work perfect. I'm super satisfied with the air lift and recommend it.

I had the Wireless One with EZ mount installed on my Tacoma OF to eliminate sag while towing. No other modifications needed. Works perfectly. Better ride quality. The best part is I just push a button to inflate and deflate. Here is a before and after pic.

I've also been looking at that. Is it the 25980EZ model number? Where was it mounted? Would love some pictures if you can.

The air bags are being delivered today so the plan is to remove the Alldogs springs and install those today, then possibly install the wireless compressor system after the fact.

Great feedback, thank you for sharing. Where did you place the schrader valve?

Yes, that’s the model number. The compressor is mounted on driver side on the inside of the frame. Here are some pics:

I ran them through the license plate. License plate is black here in NM, so you don't really see the caps too obviously.
