I've read some posts from last year about fitment issues with the MX4 but apparently they may have been updated. Has anyone installed them lately with any problems?

I currently have a BAK X4TS Revolver installed. Fitment was an issue from day one. The cover itself was manufactured too long placing the plastic tie down clips against the back of the cab. The T-Slot rails BARELY overlap on to the top of the bed, hanging on the radius edge causing it to leak water like crazy. (I know they are not waterproof) The locking rails are cut to different lengths, which is most likely causing the popping open issue. And finally, the right rear latch pops open about 50% of the time I hit a bump. I made a claim with RealTruck on May 28 and after providing customer service with the measurments they requested I was told that yes, my cover was indeed faulty and would be replaced under warranty. They informed me there would be a 7-10 day delay before shipping. Then another 7-10 days, then another, then a 2 week delay in manufacturing, then they were shipping it out to me, then after asking for a tracking number they said it would be another 7-10 days. After a couple of months of that run-around I requested a refund, which they agreed to, then informed me I had to get the refund from the dealer. Now the dealer informs me today, that he is getting the same runaround from RealTruck and cannot get a return authroization from RealTruck. They are giving him the same runaround.
I do love the design of the cover and it's features but at this point, I wish I would have spent my money elsewhere.

Yes I just watched a review online of a guy who had the same customer service response problems as you did. Also found that a lot of buyers get their shipment with missing pieces. I had that happen with another company on a Ram I had so I sent the cover back the next day. That company of course offered to send the missing hardware but my own personal policy is to not deal with companies that can't even ensure all the parts are there when packaging and it's an ongoing unresolved problem. That to me shows complete disrespect for the customer. I also emailed the shop I was going to buy the Bakflip from up in Phoenix. They have outstanding reviews so I asked about the MX4 and if there were any issues. They responded with a definite yes. Apparently the side rails only overlap the bed by about a 1/4" so Bakflip is re-engineering and they said they have no stock and don't know when they will get resupplied. They recommended another cover, the Extang Endure ALX but that would come out to $1600 after tax so I don't need one that bad.

The OEM cover is the previous version of the MX4, and fits better. I haven't had any issues with mine.

The front of the bed has a curve. Stand on the side of the truck and look down the rear glass, the bed itself curves a little. I used Roll N Lock and they account for that, a little pricey 1000 installed.

Mine hits the rear view camera when it is folded all the way, so that the unit can't fold all the way back so the rubber bumpers rest against the window. It was bought new from the dealer so i am going to bring it back for them to adjust (hopefully they can).
