Black Chrome Exhaust Tip. How is it holding up?

Thinking about adding the black chrome exhaust tip to my 2025 Tacoma. I've read that some have experienced peeling, pitting and generally poor cosmetic wear of this item. Anyone out there have one of these and how is it holding up?

If that happens you can always just remove it, lightly sand the tip and spray paint it with high heat resistance paint and call it a day. 10 min job.

I have used Toyota's OE exhaust tips on my 21 Tundra and now our 25 Tacoma. They hold up great, and they are made to last.

Like @828findadventure, my experience has been very positive—— no pitting, no peeling, and only cosmetic negative is due to it being dirty from my not having washed the truck recently. Once cleaned up, it will look great again.

Mine looked pretty iffy after a year of use, but after a thorough cleaning it's back to 95%. I just pulled it off to swap to TRD Performance Exhaust.

Keep it clean and it'll look good for a while.

Not Toyota but these are also diamond chrome plated from AWE and so far after 3 months of not washing my truck it looks decent. I did apply ceramic coating on it though for easy cleaning. Maybe that could be an option for you guys that want to keep the exhaust tips looking good.

Had mine on since April ‘24 and it’s perfect. No pitting, peeling or blemishes whatsoever. Left it on through a winter of cold temperatures and salty roads. Black chrome still polishes up very nicely.
