Looks great! I really dig that trailhunter in bronze oxide. If money weren't an issue, I think that's what I would have gone with.

The Bronze Oxide is beautiful. I missed out on that color and ended up with Underground. I am still happy, but..., It's all good.

I do not know a lot about mods so, maybe this is a stupid question, but I honestly do not know the answer.
What is the purpose of the Cali Raised Bed Stiffeners?
Thanks a lot

This looks great! I haven’t seen the bed stiffeners before. Have you been able to see the benefits from them yet?
Thank you! Bed stiffeners are more of an insurance policy for me. In addition to off-roading, I plan on putting decent weight on top of my bed/bed rack (RTT, bikes, snowboards, etc.) - so the stiffeners are there to prevent any issues with the bed later on.

Not a stupid question at all. If I were you, I’d do a quick google search to get deeper details. In addition to the additional hook points, in a nutshell, they are made to ensure the bed doesn’t warp, damage, or move due to weight or continuous off-roading.

I will say, I’ve never had stiffeners before, but the main reason I got them:

I plan to put a hard tent and other heavy items on the bed (including the already installed bed rack). That, plus my bed being the long bed and the awkward angles it’ll experience due to off-roading.

From what I researched, some people have seen the side walls of the bed expand - creating weird gaps between the side walls and base. On the other hand, many others have said they’ve never experienced this with countless years of owning a truck.

I prefer the insurance/peace of mind. They were $120. So, for me, the peace of mind outweighed the cost.

All this just to say… to each their own! Your truck, your rules!

Hey all, wanted to call out something I just saw on another thread about the UpTop racks.

I personally purchased them because a buddy of mine highly recommended them.

However, the thread I just read said after 8 months of owning the same bed rack (mid height truss), certain areas were rusting. Specifically, the number cut outs on each individual part. I guess the cut outs were not properly powder coated, thus creating rust.

I’ve only had mine for a few weeks and so far I haven’t experienced any rusting. I do recommend, prior to purchasing the racks, reach out to UpTop to confirm this is no longer an issue.

The install for the roof rack was easy. The install for the bed rack was problematic in some areas. Specifically, 4 bolts & nuts did not fit perfectly. Needed to force the issue.

Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for your answer.
I installed a Diamondback tonneau cover, it can take 400+ pounds of weight, but I doubt I will ever load it like that.
It is attached by 4 clamps, 2 per side, in the middle to prevent the bed walls from moving as well as anchoring the cover..
In your case, I think you did the right thing.
Thanks again
