If you're not on Instagram, or don't follow us there, Carven exhaust released a reel with their truck getting tuned by us on an AP:

I frequently get asked what the difference is between using the Cobb Accessport and custom tuning vs. other reflash-only options that are available, so I put together a brief explanation.
Flash-Only Tunes (OTS)
  • Preconfigured calibration
  • Same file for every vehicle
  • No datalog review
  • Limited adaptation to fuel, climate, or driving style
Remote ECU Tuning with Accessport
  • Vehicle-specific refinement
  • Based on your actual driving data
  • Adjusted over multiple revisions
  • Better suited to modern Toyota ECU behavior

Waiting to hear if one of these tunes, Cobb or OTT, can eliminate the mild lugging sensation that happens on the hybrid i-force max if your between 35ish to 43ish mph and the tachometer is around 1450-1550 rpm. Happens as well up around 67-73mph in the same room band but at ~30-50% intensity.

That and when the in-gear idling opts to spend time at ~950rpm, the acoustic vibration it triggers in the cab is really bad but the smallest rpm abve or below this and it goes away. I had to disable ANC bc it actually amplified the drone rather thancancel it at that one specific set point.

When it comes to the transmission and enjoyment of the truck these are my highest speed that keep me for blissful driveability.
(Much lower 3rd is Toyota's quirk on the tpms gauge not sticking)

I've never experienced this, but to be fair, I haven't spent a lot of time on the road with a hybrid truck yet. So if this is something that is common with these trucks, I'd be interested in data logging and seeing if we can correct it through tuning. If you want to send me a message, we can discuss what it would take to get a device to you and do some tuning and development that could help everyone.

Been away from this forum for a bit (driving!) and can't say enough about what Cam did to make this truck more enjoyable.

I was seriously considering selling for a Ranger Raptor and now no way I'm doing that.

Love how it feels and more importantly, I can pass safely when needed.
I drive a ton for work and often on two lane highways with slow trucks etc and having this much power and control + visibility to how the truck is doing is immense and so fun.

I've got 50,400 miles on my truck now (purchased May of 2024) and I've had JB4, OTT, and now CamTuning with Cobb and my accessport. Happy to share my experiences but for me, COBB and Cam was a no brainer and the engine simply FEELS so healthy and happy finally.

My plans are to push this engine further power-wise and pile on the miles to see what happens. Curious when the factory clutch will give up - maybe someone will step up with a lighter flywheel as well :D

Thanks again Cam!

Also, for anyone super curious/looking to benchmark the dyno posted earlier, my truck has 275/70r17's and they are Toyo Open Country RT Trails with SCS F5 wheels.
Wheels are 21.5 lbs
Tires are 42 lbs

I am excited to announce the official release of CAMTuning's in-house developed Tacoma and 4Runner performance maps. Our dedicated efforts, including extensive dyno testing and real-world road tuning on our development Tacoma have yielded significant enhancements in both power output and overall drivability compared to stock and other off the shelf calibrations. Power delivery, throttle response, and transmission control have all been optimized. Stock vs tuned map.

For a limited period, we are offering our CAMTuning Stage 1 map for the Toyota Tacoma for FREE when purchased in conjunction with an Accessport from https://www.camtuningperformance.co...2024-2025-tacoma-stage-1-map-91-93-accessport using code "tacoma4g" at checkout. This map is specifically engineered for vehicles with stock configurations, utilizing either OEM or "OEM-like" intake systems such as those from SXTH, K&N, and Stillen. If your vehicle is equipped with an alternative intake system that necessitates custom tuning, please do not hesitate to contact us, as we are fully equipped to provide such services.

The Accessport also includes the following off the Shelf Cobb tunes:

ECU MAP OPTIONS:
  • Stage0
  • Stage1 87/91/93 Oct.
  • Performance Tow
TCM MAP OPTIONS:
  • Simulated Stock
  • OEM+
  • Sport
Simulated Stock:This is a stock transmission calibration from a Tacoma/4Runner.

Important notes:
Applications
2024-2025 Tacoma
2025 4Runner
This is for the i-Force engine (gas only), and does not currently support i-Force Max (hybrid)
This is for the Automatic Transmission only, and does not yet support the 6MT.

If you have any questions or just want to discuss tuning, please message me.
This is amazing! Have you done any tuning with the Banks intake yet? Does is scale close to stock like k&n and sxth or does it need a custom tune?

I have done a few Banks intakes already. They scale close enough to stock to run without a tune, but can be really dialed in with custom tuning.
