The wall of torque in the dyno chart is anything but understressed 😂

Hope Toyota made the bottom ends stout. Guess we will find out lol definitely never tuning my truck.

Edit:
125hp/Liter post tune is no joke, that's more than an EJ STI. Those exploded for entirely different reasons, but were in no way an "understressed" motor. They also had the benefit of shorter OCI (Subaru recommended 3,000 miles), thicker oil, single scroll turbo tuned for higher RPM torque, and lower compression (reduces risk of knock/LSPI), and despite all this still sometimes blew up 😂

These offset rods better be good shit 😳

Here’s the breakdown of these 2.4’s. You might find it interesting on how well these are built. https://www.toyota-club.net/files/faq/21-09-20_faq_t24-engine_en.htm

My GLA45 had approx. 200hp per liter. And then I tuned it after that. Never an issue.

125 is nothing. Also, thanks for dropping in to tell us all you’re not interested.

Yeah I checked that a while back in 2024, before I bought the truck. Toyota did a good job with these engines, they're pretty simple for a modern gas turbo setup (aside from the crazy coolant director gizmo).

Stuff like the piston oil squirters, dual injection, offset crank, big IC, and seemingly beefy bottom end (yet to be determined) is cool.

Very interested to see how long the tuned motors last.

A hand built 4 banger with forged pistons and rods and crank isn't really a fair comparison LOL

It should be even more impressive that Toyota can manufacture one that isn’t hand built and can handle it.

Let’s get back on topic.

Have had mine OTT tuned 5 weeks now. MPGs are exactly the same if not a smidge better. Spools quicker and holds 8th gear like a dream.

Couldn’t agree more with you. I had two of my 3rd gen’s tuned with OTT and now my 4th gen, before the tune to after the tune is night and day difference. OTT has a track record second to none on the Toyota tuning side for these trucks. Before I went with OTT on my first 3rd gen I went with one of their competitors which was no comparison to the linear power delivery of the OTT tune and transmission mapping which is about perfect in my opinion.
