I appreciate y’all putting in so much effort to make your trucks look more like mine hahaCorrection; It'll look like an SR5 with Chrome
Well I guess it looks more like an SR, it's the only one that comes stock with no badges. Of course, you can't get this color in either the SR or SR5. So I guess it'll look like an SR5 to someone who wouldn't care either way.
It's a good-looking truck. I love a stick shift. You're going to have a blast in that.I appreciate y’all putting in so much effort to make your trucks look more like mine haha
Here's my SR (manual gets the 270hp engine and TRD transmission) so I guess it's just my own personal sleeper build. Originally had the dealership sticker on the back window but I asked them to remove it. Other than that I've got the chrome 4x4 sticker and no other badging
They — and everyone else — do it to distinguish "Limited" or luxury models from the others. They all follow a pattern: mirror caps, lower front valance, grille, door handles, wheels, etc. On the 4th generation, it's too much; the grille and the wheels look like Walmart purchases. Take a look at the 4Runner — they got that right, particularly with the rims.I did debate the i-Force Max on the tailgate and the Limited door badge as they seemed a bit more unique. In the end, I just prefer the cleaner look or a more custom look.
I'm with you on the Chrome though, even though the black-out look has been the norm for 20 years, I'm not sure why Toyota still does the Chrome treatment on the Limited.
It has grown on me a little though. Maybe I go the opposite direction and get chrome springs, flares, rails, mud flaps, and a chrome rear bumper.![]()
The rims are egregious, they will go when I do tires. I can live with the rest for now. They — and everyone else — do it to distinguish "Limited" or luxury models from the others. Agree. I'm considering going with PRO rims when the time comes. The rims are egregious, they will go when I do tires. I can live with the rest for now.
