Out of curiosity, when you talked to Dobinsons was the extra weight of the trailhunter brought into consideration on what spring you should get? I know the trailhunter is about 800lbs heavier overall, wondering if that's what they suggested going so stiff and why it worked so well for you.

I'm pretty sure the weight ratings they have posted for the amount of lift don't take into consideration the extra weight of the trailhunter (or maybe the hybrid models in general).

No We didn't talk about trailhunter extra weight. I think that is taken into consideration to start with, but what many people don't understand is that they are telling us what they been taught. All the spring coil load carrying capacity tests are done in the control environment, almost like a lab. They put coil in the machine that squeezes it and you get the results. And that is cool and valid if you will be driving only on the paved roads. But from my own offroading/overlanding experience of 10 years, I can tell you that is all irrelevant once you go offroad. When you are on bumpy offroad trail and you hit the hole is not just your weight that is compressing the coil. Is weight x acceleration and that transfers to the force so big that coils are not rated for and you will be bottoming out and hitting your bump stops. So that is why I went with coils that are rated for bigger load then what I need and that is why is working beautify. It's like floating, never bottomed out and ride is so comfortable.
