When the truck is on, it’s a solid red. When the truck is off and the switch is in the middle position, it’ll blink red slowly. When it’s in the time position, it’ll blink green slowly.

Not sure what to say next. You’re describing my functionality exactly. I’m just trying it again right now, but in “timed” I get the green flash as well. So I don’t think it’s the A->C adapter, the cable or even the Dongar.

How are you making menu selections with the camera, app or in camera? I couldn’t get my app selections to stick, even with a firmware update, so I’m doing it in the camera.

I've verified the settings both on the app and the camera itself. It's set as I want it.

So interesting enough, I experimented and left it on Timed mode in my apartment's parking garage. Turned on the Dongar at about 2:15 pm. And sure enough, the parking mode activated and worked. I have several 45 sec recordings starting at around 2:25pm throughout a 4 hour period until about 6:30pm.

Then I went out to dinner and parked in a parking lot, parking mode was not activated. It was parked for about 1 hour. That whole time, it recorded in normal mode instead.

I'm not sure why or what's causing it to work and not work intermittently, because all settings and switches are the exact same. I'll have to experiment further and see. My suspicion is that it has something to do with motion. Maybe when it senses motion constantly right after the car is off, it won't activate parking mode.

That’s an interesting theory. I’ll pay more attention to IF my camera goes into parking mode in high motion situations. I know it does in my garage (of course), but you may have stumbled onto something here.

So, I’m in a busy parking lot ritght now, and with the engine running, parking mode kicked on for me. These are my settings.

I would try time lapse mode and see what happens... Maybe your motion is set too high and it's just continuously recording? I know I have switched my viofo to time lapse because the motion was a little flakey

I have pretty much the same settings. But in today's latest test, I changed the parking motion detection to Low to test out the motion theory. But I'm getting mixed results. Here's the timeline:

5:03pm - parked on street, front cam facing street with constant cars passing. Parking mode did NOT activate.
5:28pm - Drove and parked different parking lot, semi-active.
5:36pm - first parking video footage. I think parking mode activated here.
5:47pm - last parking footage as I drive off. Interestingly enough, it did not capture me walking up to the car.
5:58pm - parking in my parking garage, front camera facing wall, rear camera facing motion areas. Parking mode did NOT activate and recorded continuously as normal.

So for some reason, this time it's the opposite actions as before. It worked in a parking lot, but not in my garage. So I'm getting mixed and unreliable results. The fact that it missed me walking up to my car makes me think I shouldn't even rely on motion activated mode because it can totally miss some action.

Next time I'll try the timelapse and low bit rate settings.
