One of the stupidest things they ever put in a vehicle.
Lee Zeldin (EPA Administrator):
Start/stop technology: where your car dies at every red light so companies get a climate participation trophy.
EPA approved it, and everyone hates it, so we’re fixing it.
EPA to ban start/stop tech.
Does anyone know how to open that cover where that switch is?
The switch is a momentary contact. Two of the wires get jumped together which cancels it out permanently.
I wouldn't know which two without opening it up and getting to it.
I will let you all know when I get it done how to do it if it's not already posted.
If anyone has done this, please let me know with any info you could provide which would be greatly appreciated.
I did it to my Rangers and Colorados. Very easy to do. Someone had posted on the Ranger forum which two wires to put a little jumper in between.
They do have a little harness they call the Start/Stop Eliminator for just under $100 which did the same thing. Just plug it in between the wire harness and the switch.
