So as part of my build I wanted a better looking headlamp in my OR and fell in love with the 6G 4Runner TRD Pro lights with the amber DRL and dual projectors. After doing some digging I was pretty confident they would be plug and play and can now confirm they are 100% plug and play.

There is a dummy slot for the extra connector and everything mounts up in the exact same spots. You just lose the front bracket piece which I think just is an extra secure point for the fake air ducts.

If anyone is interested in this swap just note you will need to have a shop/dealer aim the lamps as they point lower than the stock lamps and the manual slider won’t fix it.

What’s the price tag on this? Looks great
Tbh… a lot. Retail in Canada on these is 2k a side. Because I work for Toyota I get them cheaper so it made the swap only cost about $400 more(if that cuz tariffs) than buying and importing the AlphaRex lamps which is the only reason I pulled the trigger. Cost on them in the US might be more reasonable though. And maybe an aftermarket manufacturer will make a lamp that looks like this in the future that’s more reasonably priced.

Did you need a 4Runner wiring harness or was it plug & play with the factory Tacoma harness? I really dig the look. Nice work 👌🏼

So you lose one of the best functions of the OE lights in the wheel to adjust the light level AND paid a bunch to do that. Crazy times we live in.

What? No you don't lose that at all. The new lights just need to be properly adjusted to correct height first and then will work as intended. The aim adjusting wheel just doesn't bring them up high enough first.

Nope no harness is required. They use the exact same connectors between the two models. Main power plugs into the same spot, headlight levelling motor plugs in the same spot and if you have a lower trim with the halogen turn signals that connector plugs into the dummy connector on the back of the lamp.

Gotcha. Misread that. I thought the wheel was no longer working. If is my favorite part of the lights as in winter I add sandbags to the back and my lights have to be adjusted.

Yea I wouldn't do this upgrade if I lost functionality of that 😅. I tow quite a lot and it really helps keep the lamps pointed where they need to be.

I want a set for my trd pro to go amber but I can’t justify the cost unfortunately just for Amber.
Yea they are a bit pricey of an option but there is also the AlphaRex lights which also have an amber DRL.

Just searched the part numbers (thank you) and with Toyota's current 25% off sale my dealer in Florida would be $776 per side. I just ordered the TRD Pro exhaust for $475. I do like your lights...
