GFC V2 Pro Topper Install

Made the trip to Scappoose, Oregon for the GFC V2 Pro Topper.

The Mountain Standard had me in and out in an hour.

The Topper is awesome. Extremely well built. Lead time was kinda long. But GFC kept me updated every step of the way. It was worth the wait.

I had a Smartcap. This is no knock on them, I just had problems with mine. They were more than understanding though. They took it back and reimbursed everything. No hassle.

Shortly after I was able to put eyes on a GFC up close and I was sold. This thing is solid.

The price tag on campers these days though man, damn. I can't even find a deal on a used smart cap! Forced me to buy a softopper.

You aren't kidding. I ordered mine for pick up in Oregon. Saved on the sales tax and install. GFC also offers that GOV.X discount. I tried to get as much help as I could lol.

Initial thoughts on quality? Process of installation? Eashy to get on and off? I've been EXTREMELY tempted lately to pull the trigger on a GFC. Just hate that you essentially need a forklift to get it off.

When I got to the shop Mountain Standard had a bunch of GFC’s lined up for install. Couple toppers and a few campers. The quality is outstanding. Those campers/rtt’s are something else It was cool to see all of it.

Installation was a breeze. I was in and out in a little less than an hour.

They used a forklift to put my topper on. Just convenient and easier that way. The topper is about 180 pounds. If you’ve got another person should be pretty easy to take on and off. Those campers are another story. That’d be a task.

Does this topper have a glass passthrough like the smartcap for the rearview camera (if equipped)? I didn't see that angle on the pics.

If you wanted you can go no windows. I opted for the rear window. And no window in the back cab.
