I'm looking to drill a small hole in my bed to route my bed cover drain line (1/4" hole with adapter to fit the drain line).

Has anyone drilled into their bed? Is it just like a plastic composite? Normal drill bits work I assume?

Yes, it's a sort of glass composite. Just make sure there's nothing under the spot. It'll drill similarly to HDPE.

Do you have any holes in the front of the bed? I had 4 predrilled and then just made them bigger and shoved the tube through on both sides

I did the same with my drain tubes, there was like 3 holes and I just used a step bit to drill them out just large enough for the tube to sit in there snug. I did check under the bed and didn't see anything even close to the holes to worry about.

I wanted my drain tubes to do a straight fall, or nearly so. 1/2" high speed steel bit on slow went through nice and clean. Be sure to crawl under and double check where you are about to drill to ensure it's all clear.
Then just some black/gray dust and fibers to vacuum up. 1/2" was the perfect size that my Roll-n-Lock drain tube OD was a snug fit.

(Note: this was with the factory spray in liner)

Yes, I did for my EGR rolltrac tonneau. It's composite so it will drill through like butter. Be careful though, use protection and ensure you're wearing pants as the fibers will cut though your skin like tiny blades. Ask me how I know

I used a step bit to get a clean hole. I drilled for the same drain hoses for my Bakflip cover.

I did the same used a stepped bit to enlarge the existing holes to feed the drain tubes. If I wash the bed I just temporary pull them out so the bed can drain.

I used the existing holes and made larger. I purchased some plastic inlets for end of the drain and they fit snug. The bed is composite and you will need to vacuum.
