Has anyone tried magnetic accessories on their truck body?

Hey everyone

Quick question for you all.
On your truck’s body, are there any spots where a magnetic accessory could attach securely?

We’re testing a Magnetic Side Tray System idea and want to make sure it actually makes sense in real-world use.
If you know a spot, or have tried something similar before, drop a comment and let us know.

This seems like a bit of a stretch.

In the time I could get this out, clamp it in place, and fish out any accessories, I would have rather just set up something like this:

Plus, with the table shown above, I don't need to worry about scuffing up my paint. It looks like a solution looking for a problem that simply doesn't exist.

That said, something like aimable lights or a hanging lantern hook would be much more useful, and could really use the "magnet" theme if you guys are just dying to use them.

That looks like the magnets would grind dirt into the paint when putting it on and taking it off. If someone wre to put too much weight on it or inadvertently lean on it…

Pretty sure the bedside is Aluminum so that's kinda useless, plus I'm not sticking things to my paint

Just got my truck back from full body PPF. We go camping at established sites and the middle nowhere. I’d be willing to test your product, take pics of how we use it and share my thoughts.

Yeah…it would need to be tested on a fender if the gadget fits. I would not stick a shelf on a door.

Bed, tailgate and hood are aluminum. Doors, fenders and cab are not.

Yep, the bed sides and tailgate are aluminum, as is the hood. All of the other exterior panels are steel.

No way, I would never stick anything on the paint of my doors and scratch the hell out of the paint. And as others said, the bedsides are aluminum anyway.

EXCEPT...

Our trucks already come with a free table! It folds down to use and folds up when not needed. It's big enough for three people to eat lunch on. I'll just continue to use that. (It's the tailgate ).
