I was going to order one, but I think it will prevent some of the engine heat from escaping. The turbo probably creates extra heat. Maybe Toyota designed the hood without the pad for a reason?

The under hood pad is actually factory on some Tacomas, just not all. Limiteds all got one for example. It's a cost saving thing.

Ahhh! I should’ve done a little research before posting my comment. Sorry!

I was going to write the same thing. My limited came with a hood pad installed from the factory. I was kind of wondering, why people who want a quieter engine to just order that from the factory?

This Lexland product looks very similar to OEM hood insulation sold by Toyota. Curious if there was a noticeable difference of engine noise inside the cabin after you installed it ? There's also one being sold on Amazon (by Zekzoop Store) for around $75 that looks identical, but not sure if both have the same sound absorbing qualities.

My SR5 came without a hood pad. After driving the truck for a while I started to hyper-focus on the engine noise. Installed this exact style pad and it made quite a difference. Keep in mind, the market (Amazon) is flooded with this exact pad, just rebranded for different sellers. If the noise is a concern and you can find this pad for a fair price, it’s worth it in my opinion. I think I paid just over $60. Mine has been installed for about a year. Looks like new and is holding its shape.

As someone mechanically challenged at times, how difficult is this actual install? Does it custom fit and easily just snap into place like the video shows?

Also, as was asked above, is there truly a significant reduction in engine noise inside the cabin after installation? Thanks in advance for any info...
