Yes, corporate cost cutting to increase profits. The upper trims also get dual pane front window glass to reduce noise in the cabin.

That's why my Limited has a weird edge on the door window glass!

I am guessing these come standard on the more premium Tacoma trims. My TRD OR without the Premium package did not have them. Hopefully they will reduce some wind noise and keep the door jambs cleaner. Each door runs around $38 and they fit perfectly as expected from an OEM part.

Once you remove the 4 factory plugs in the door the install is easy. I posted the part numbers and included a few before/after pics for anyone else that may be interested.

Do the Plugs get reused - or does the new f Door strip have them included - or need to order separate ?? I see no other clips in the parts diagram ?....

You can discard the plastic door plugs. The new part has built in push clips.

Think I'll order all 4 pieces. But, a silly question...how to remove Rear Window "trim" piece (as seen in these pics from a poster on TacomaWorld)? Just pop up and off with trim removal tool or other??? I'm cautious about just "prying" without knowing correct procedure.
