I wired in both. You probably only need one since you're only in it for the brake light, but I wired both just to be thorough. Of course I'm not using the turn signal outputs so I just taped the two turn signal wires on the output out of the way.
Thanks. Appreciate your response!

Hey Dan, I came across your thread after searching for Lonepeak. I just received an email that my build is ready for install and I will be driving to Washington in a couple of weeks. I was wondering if you did the recommended bed cap seal before picking yours up and any advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated as well as any thoughts on your camper now that you have had it for a while. Thanks, again.

I did attempt to seal the caps and would encourage you to do a better job than I did. The Tacoma bed is a sieve and I've been chasing water for two years now.

If I had it to do over again I would have used a couple tubes of Sikaflex and filled every hole I could find. It's not just the caps either, although they're obviously what you really need to do before the install. Water leaks around the bed lights, tie-down rails, storage bin, etc... Basically any place the bed is cut or drilled will leak!

I love the camper though. My only real regret is getting the sliding/fold down window in the front. I've never once used it and it also leaks.... Other than that I really haven't had any issues. You can find complaints on the Lone Peak Facebook page but I really think people don't understand that ALL RV-type setups will have issues. You can't bomb down dirt roads at 40mph and expect things to not shift and break, although I've been thankfully free of any major problems.

It's going to be later than I would have wanted but come mid-May I'm planning to take a few weeks and wander from Seattle to Phoenix, visit my parents down there and then wander back. I expect it will be hot but I'm currently in Mazatlan acclimating! 😆

Also, I'm not sure where you're coming from but if you go through Seattle feel free to ping me. I live at the base of Stevens Pass so you'd be driving right by me (assuming I'm around).

You also may want to upgrade your suspension. If you start choosing out any major interior mods you'll quickly find the stock suspension (especially the springs) will get overwhelmed. I've got a full Ironman suspension waiting to be installed so will have various parts laying around, including Dobinsons 817 rear springs, which worked great until they didn't...

Thanks for the tips! I will try and be diligent with the sealing. I'm coming from Atlanta, lol, and plan to catch a Braves game against the Mariners during the first week of May. I plan to get the install a couple of weeks before then and do some exploring around the area with the new camper before the game. I've never been to this part of the country. I'm coming from a 2wd setup that I've taken thousands of miles on trips, and this will be my first real overlanding capable machine. I have the Trailhunter so it should be setup for the extra weight. I may still add some beefier Dobinson's once I get it built out the way I want it and get closer to a final weight.
