LOL, love this topic.

The overland tent guy running errands on a Tuesday. Never understood leaving one of those giant eyesores on the truck roof all summer long.
I am thinking of going that route but I'd like a way to remove the tent. They are too heavy to remove myself and the girlfriend wouldn't be much help. Most are going to be up there for good.

Just do it dude. Who cares what anyone thinks ? They're just hanging out in their offices and on their couches while you are lettin' 'er RIP! And I for one will think you look cool.

It's not a looks issue for me. More wanting to keep full use of my bed. When I see trucks with them on and see the same truck it doesn't bother me at all. I'm likely to admire their setup and understand that they just don't get removed easily. I wouldn't care what others thought.

If you have a garage, you could install an electric hoist to do it, pull truck out and set it on the ground, maybe on a wood frame with castor wheels so you could push it around?

I have a cheap harbor freight winch on my garage ceiling to remove the hard top on our jeep. Good option!

2. I’d buy the cheapest trim with 4x4
This part 💯. My wheels were swapped within the first month. I couldn’t see myself getting a higher end trim just for me to change it all. I pick up a GFC topper in a month. And upgrading suspension after that.

Also, has anyone else completely debadged their truck? (4x4 , Tacoma lettering etc)

1. Fang lights and raptor lights. Raptor lights only belong on a genuine Ford Raptor
2. Excessive poke on rims, and just fugly wheel and tire combos. Especially oversized AT tires on SR5 factory silver painted rims.
3. Heritage color inserts on the grill and, well, anywhere on the truck tbh
4. Color matching inserts, covers, stickers on the interior
5. Hood emblems (ex. “TRD Sport”) on trucks that never came with hood emblems. The only emblems that are OEM and legit are TRD Pro and iForce Max.
6. Any modification to the muffler to make it “sound better”. You won’t, you’ll never…it’s a 4 banger and the exhaust note will always be nails on a chalkboard. Don’t make it worse.
7. Trying desperately to make your low trim truck look like and be optioned like a high trim truck. Don’t do it. If it’s an SR5, let it be an SR5.
8. Heritage blue and wave maker blue. These colors are an abomination. The only vehicle that can get away with wild colors is a Jeep Wrangler…but then the people that buy them tend to be wild as well

BUT…to each their own. It’s your money and your truck…make it your own! Just be prepared to have thick skin if you go extreme on the mods and ask peoples opinions lol
Regarding your comment on “raptor lights only belong on ford raptors”, is more cringe than every single one of your points. If you inform yourself, you’ll understand my point.

Yea mine is 100% debadged! I'd post another photo, but @StreetTaco is basically BEGGING for another blue crush long boi photo, and I really don't want to give it to him 😂

Pretty much any mod, so far uninterested in all of them. Although one day I may splurge and get some Bilstien 5100's.
