Occasional Engine Rattle 2024 TRD SPORT 4x4

Anyone else have this rattling sound? It’s been happening since I drove off the lot. Toyota Techs say they can’t hear it and all tests come out fine. Others have told me it sounds like something is loose when I’m driving by.

It’s the D4S injection system. That noise specifically is it switching between port and direct injection.

Absolutely, insanely high DI PSI means you need a mechanical pump running off the cam. They're pretty much always very noisy.

Diesels also sound the same, for the same reason. You just don't notice it because the rest of the engine is so loud.

Yeah look at your high pressure fuel pump. That sounds like the rattle. They are supposed to make some noise but you could get the Toyota techs to look at it

2024 TRD sport, 20,000 miles, use Amsoil 0-20 5000 mile oil changes. My truck never made that noise. I make mainly long trips with this truck.
