The access points seem to be a "deal breaker" for a lot of people online, but they don't actually seem that practical to me, so I wasn't planning on using them on any setup #1 I don't trust that I won't make a mess on top of the skid when I'm removing the drain plug and filter anyways #2 I'll want to look under the skid and make sure the truck doesn't have anything abnormal going on when I do my oil changes.

This is what I installed to make my oil changes clean and free from spills.

Good habit. This was how I found my rear main seal and oil pan gasket leak. They weren’t major leaks so if I hadn’t checked I would’ve potentially missed until my warranty expired.

Yea dude, great practice! I drive a fire engine for a living. Do I know how to fix everything under the cab ? Absolutley not. But I tilt it every day because I know what it looks like when it's in working order and will know right away if something isn't right. I've caught plenty of blown seals and leaks doing that.

Alright, well, I went with the Landcruiser skid with the discount for $244 and RCI crossmember for $110. $344 OTD - Pretty good! Talked myself out of the transfer case skid as I was just putting shit in the cart since it was a good deal. Had the trailhunter grill in there too for a second 😂 + I don't think I'll do anything burly enough to need a full skid set. Sounds like sliders would be in order first anyways.

Thanks to those of you who helped me! I really love this forum as a new Taco owner 🙏

Glad to see you were able to make your decision. Looks like the right one IMO.

Two questions: What is the part number for the Landcruiser plate? (Couldn't make it out in the photo). Also, why did you need the crossmember? I have a TRD Off Road and think I might already have the crossmember. Any help is appreciated, and again, happy to see you were able to make the move.

Toyota is having a 20% off sale right now. Might go to Apex Toyota Hendricks Parts or Serra Toyota website and see if you can stack that one time use code: grob25q324
