How are you getting the cover back on with the wire coming out?

Did you cut a notch in the cover, run the wire through a gap, use a fuse box riser, or find another solution?

Would love to see some photos of how you did it.

I now have an additional fuse/relay box for auxiliary items. Prior to that I just ran wires out the bottom of the oem fuse box as I knew I'd eventually upgrade the system and didn't want to cut/drill anything.

If your looking for a product idea, its out there already. If you hop on TacomaLifestyle's website they make a fuse cover thats prenotched so you can run wires through it for fuse taps while minimizing dust. Even have little covers for non-utilized slots.

Yes, we noticed that. Its a clever box but the $$ might put some owners off

I chose to take the fuse box on the driver's side ( non hybrid ), loose and ran the tap wire through the factory loom. The process takes a bit longer but the end result appears factory.
A picture would be futile because it shows nothing but a fuse tap, that's the idea !

Thanks, that definitely sounds like one of the cleaner OEM-style solutions. A few others have also mentioned loosening the driver-side or passenger-side fuse box and routing the tap wire through the factory loom. Our main concern is that it adds too much additional labor time.
