I was watching a video by The Car Care Nut about how 4WD works in modern Toyota vehicles. He said do not exceed 62 mph in 4Hi.SDM is a sought after option. It will help resale. I use mine often, smooths out the ride and gives the pickup more flex. Unfortunately Toyota programmed it for 18MPH or less, 25 would have been nice! It’s always a good idea to exercise 4H,4L, lockers, and SDM. There is no speed limit for 4H or 4L. You can only shift into 4H below 62, but after that no limit. 4L you must be stopped in 4H to switch into 4L. When in 4L it won’t shift to a higher gear until about 3-3500 RPMs seems kinda odd at first but it’s well thought out by Toyota![]()
