I'm sure it means they are seeking help from Toyota which is better than a bunch of guessing. Of course it is frustrating, but do your best to be friendly about it all. From a long time supervising and at scale (near 1000 people) but starting at the bottom I can absolutely say that's important for both parties. No one including you does well or better solves problems when people are on the defensive or stressed. No one wants to help the customer who's grumpy or hard on them.

Good luck!
For sure. I’m not being a dick about it to them but just frustrated. It’s 9 months old…

But they are doing everything possible and have put me in a free Tacoma loaner while they figure it out.

I had mine done didn't have any issues afterwards. Service has been pretty good at mine so far with my 3rd gen and the 4th gen but I also dont let them do much outside oil change and tire rotation. And even then they lost one of my lug nuts one time lol

You just can't get good help these days. I had my blind spot done and no issues Knock on Wood. Still waiting for the parts for the brake fade as I do tow from time to time. Though the last time I had no fade issues at all in Tow/Haul mode.

There's another thread about this as well. From what I gather it's the whole not plugging in the radiator fans issue that keeps happening. For whatever reason, that's part of the recall fix and it seems the techs are forgetting to plug things back in. So frustrating.

By having the impact wrench set to tighten..then realizing too late.
Well, who ever it was is a moron. Those bolts are only torqued to 21 ft lbs.

Not very happy with Toyota right now. Yesterday I had a first service scheduled with Toyota and they informed me there was a software update for a recall related to the blind spot monitoring system. I approved them to apply the fix. When I returned to pick up my truck, about an hour later I was driving home after running errands and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree with check engine notifications, a “drive start control malfunction” and all sorts of other notices. I immediately returned to Toyota and they have had my truck since yesterday afternoon. As of an hour ago they still cant figure out what’s going on and have a master tech on it.

I received a phone call informing me of the progress and the tech went on to say that they would continue to work on it but at some point they may have to start charging me diagnosing fees and shit despite the thing working FINE before I brought it in. His reasoning was the digital Wolfbox rear view camera that I have had in the truck since I bought it last October, insinuating that the aftermarket mirror could be why. I laughed at him and told him that was ridiculous and reminded him there was absolutely nothing wrong with the truck prior to the recall service. Further, another tech told me when I dropped the truck off that the recall service provided may have been done incorrectly and something about a plug needing to be undone prior to doing the service? Right now they’re saying the MAIN fault is related to the sensors at the grill but theyre having problems communicating with the system.

Has anyone faced this issue? I did raise a bit of hell and got a service manager who told me that tech that I spoke with poorly communicated with me what was happening and that they will take care of this but I am a bit alarmed that they cannot find out what is going on.

@CheesyTaco - just got my blind spot monitor recall done this past Sat. Sorry to hear about your electrical issues. I also had an issue with the service advisor . I saw my truck being driven out so I went to inquire with the advisor if it was ready, the first thing he says to me is that my truck has been " extremely modified " with the rear lights ( I have a plug n play LED brake/turn signal light bar - LOL ) He said Toyota can void my warranty . Without getting into details , I basically had a few words with him and asked for my keys.
