Call toyota and ask them. They won't tell you though. Is there a way to know actually how many trucks are affected with the transmission failures or what percentage? Thanks.

The issue was already fixed in mid to late 2024s, so you’re fine.Should one be concerned about the AL80F transmission in the 2025's...? I'd hope Toyota has resolved the issue in current production
So they say…The issue was already fixed in mid to late 2024s, so you’re fine.
Glad to hear it, mine shifts like a 15 year old kid learning how to drive stick shiftAll my transmissions still working well.
Good lord that sucks dude…. How do you know it’s the transmission though and not something else?Looks like I got bit by the tranny bug. Just passed 12k miles on my TH. No warning signs of impending doom. Was on the freeway cruising along, then sudden violent jerking and the engine cut out. Pulled over and restarted the engine and limped to a service center. I’m over 200 miles away from home on an important work trip. Not sure what to do. May have to find a rental because I think they are gonna recommend towing it back to my local dealer. We’ll see…
I don’t know. Just guessing. They aren’t even sure they can look at it today since I don’t have an appointment.Good lord that sucks dude…. How do you know it’s the transmission though and not something else?

Funny story, when I walked in and started telling them the problem they acted like they had never heard of anything like this before. Then they got me confused with another guy who just came in with his ‘24 Taco having the exact same problem. ?![]()
