Why are all reviews complaining about price ?

I get that prices are out of control, but as I'm weighing the pros and cons of getting that Pro I want, almost all reviews complain of the Pro price. At MSRP it is more expensive, but not by leaps and bounds.

I'm not seeing that much of a difference in other midsize truck prices in my area:

2026 pro I'm looking at $62,694.
2026 Chevy Colorado ZR2 $65,519
2026 Ford Ranger Raptor $62,435
I guess you could get the Nissan Frontier Pro 4x for 45 ?

On most trims nothing seems terribly far off.

Yea, and I guess I haven't dug into review of the ZR2 or Raptor Ranger, so maybe folks say the same thing about those prices too.

I watched some review by the car care nut (I think) and he was complaining about upside down stickers and weird little stuff lol people are just miffed by prices of things in general I think.

People don't understand inflation. A dollar in 2012 (random year in the not so distant past) is worth $1.45 today.

That's 45% inflation in 14 years. A truck that cost 34k in 2012 (average new TRD Tacoma price) would be equal to around $50k today.

Now is the quality of the trucks worth that same money today or not? That's a different discussion.

I shopped around for my Limited last year, I went with the best price/trade in. I had to travel a bit but in the end I saved thousands over buying local.

I get that! Saved $8k on my SR5 riding the training 7 hours, if I buy the pro I'm saving 10k over anything in my state by driving 7-8 hours.

I only had to go 1.5hrs to get $6K better price than my local dealer. They had the limited in stock and the exact color I wanted, it was a no brainer decision. 4K off MSRP, 2K more on trade.

The Pro I'm looking at is $62 and $35 trade for my sr5.
In Seattle ? $72 for the same pro and $30 for the trade.
Not a little bit of money.

Anyways, off topic! Stuff is expensive, but seems like all rigs in this category are expensive (minus Nissan which I'm not considering).

I asked the dealer I service my 2019 Tacoma Sport if they could match and they said nope. I said ok thats fine I will just buy it somewhere else then and you lose the sale. No counter offer, no match, nothing...Same thing happened when I bought my 2019, thats 2 Tacomas they lost out on.

We all need to be smart and informed consumers and until they lose enough business they wont care. I did the same with my Porsche Macan I just bought 2 weeks ago. I shopped around and saved a ton. We all work hard for our money and I feel its worth the effort to shop around for the best deals.

Same reason I ended up flying to Orlando for my truck - up here in NY they're asking $57k for a '24 with 42,000 miles, tires almost done, it has a loose skidplate with crossthreaded bolts, and needed a fron CV joint, and of course 42k of dings dents and scratches.... they didn't want to budge on price.

I found my '25 pristine with 4,000 miles, for $51k.... with 100k mile warranty.....

it was a no-brainer to make the trip.

Agree with everyone who said, “gotta shop around.” It wasnt as easy for me, though, as every dealer I went to had a 6-7month wait for the Sport Premium I wanted. That sucked.

Anyways, when I bought my ‘06 SR5 19 years ago, it was 32k Canuck Bucks. FFWD 19 years, and I got my current ride at 59k, with PPF, running boards, 1 front glass replacement in 2 years (a blessing with all the crap they throw in the roads around me in the winter), and a free service at 12k kms. Thats really not bad, I think, with 19 years of price hikes, and a buttload of add-ons compared to my ‘06.

I flew to Vegas in ‘24 to pickup my TH. Very specific on the 6’ bed, was hard to find. Got the truck I wanted. Paid a little extra but in my line of work clients pay a bit extra for my services anyway. It’s not like they’re having a hard time moving these trucks off the lot, even with rates jacked

In Canada it’s hard to find much of a deal, at least in my parts. 2 years ago they were MSRP everywhere and some were over. Best I could do was no extra dealer fees. I don’t think much has changed in 2 years.
