After about 4K miles, most of it on HWY driving, I find it quite hard to go more than 14mpg, normally it is below that.
Out West there are long, 75+ stretches of no gas availability and, when I start doing Overlanding I am sure the gas mileage will be around 12.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to retrofit an auxiliary tank, 5 to 10 gallons on these trucks?
Thanks a lot

I actually get pretty solid MPG with my TH, but this is an interesting product!

any experience with it? Are there other brands? Might actually buy this
No experience but looking to be a solid option? It vents so it would a no go if you’re planning on a topper with a sleep platform.

Slow down. With a tail wind I was able to do 350 miles on a tank by doing 63 mph.. hit over 24 mpg and I have bigger tires, a roof rack and a roam case that all added drag. Coming back the other way I averaged about 18 mpg.

how much is that in kms per litter?
1 mile=1.61Km
1 US gallon=3.854 litres
So, in km per liter, they use 100Km
It will take 22 liters per 100km BUT, I am not a great mathematirian so double check

I do not doubt your much better mileage, but I am simply unable to drive 12 hours at 63mph average.
I know its stupid, but I just cant, I do 75 to 85, averaging about 70 over long, 680-mile drives, Austin to Raton, NM, for example
You are a cautious, normal driver and I am a crazy one, but a manufacturer should try to produce something fom an average with you in one end and I on the other.
They advertised the Traihunter at 22 or 23 mpg and that is impossible with this truck

Same for me. Call me crazy but I just drove from Southern California to Idaho and back. I averaged 14.7 miles per gallon because I couldn't drive the 16-hour drive at 63 mph. I averaged about 80 mph.

Politics do not belong on these forums but avoiding it is difficult.
Most highways have a 75 mph speed limit, and 2-lane rural roads are usually 55mph
The government is 40 years behind on this, and it allows the car companies to publish fallacious gas consumption figures like the Traihunter.
A hybrid is supposed to have good numbers. The Traihunter is not a true hybrid in the sense that its purpose is to increase power in the notoriously underpowered Tacoma line.
But 13 and 14 miles per gallon in a reduced (18 vs 22 gallon capacity) tank is ridiculous.

I absolutely get 22+ in mine without needing to drive 63mph

Psi of your tires? Is your TH entirely stock?

16k miles on mine. Haven't reset the MPG once and I read 18.2 currently. I drive fast. Like 95mph on I-95 fast. That's with a drive from OR to UT for purchase and UT-FL relocation as well.

The Titan tank is interesting, but not much more useful than another gas can in the bed. Transfer Flow had a 48 gal direct hook up under bed tank for my Tundra. I don't want that much volume for the Taco, but half of it would be better than the 18 gal that's on it now. Some after market company has to step up I'm hoping.
