I asked around a month ago and was told that they’re having a hard time sourcing the components to be able to sell them. Not sure how true that is but they did say that it wouldn’t void the warranty.
I'm guessing the warranty is why everyone wants the TRD kit ? Aren't there comparable or better kits that cost less out there ? Couldn't you just put the extra money you save on a different kit aside in case you have a suspension related issue during your warranty period that gets denied ? Which seems fairly unlikely considering how most folks drive their trucks (myself included). Just thinking out loud...

I have the TRD kit on my 25 off-road. I love it. I also like that it’s covered under warranty. The stop sale was due to a spring compressor failing at the factory during an install on the assembly line. At some point I imagine they will start selling to the public like intended. Back to the suspension. Yes, there are other capable kits out there. I like that these shocks and coil overs are made specifically for our truck. It rides like butter. I had a 2nd gen that I sourced a 3rd gen Trd Pro fox suspension for. Again, the ride was awesome. As far as price goes. Paying $3400 on the sticker I say was great. It came installed so I didn’t pay that and comes with a warranty.

I would assume that’s the large reason, expensive trucks and I’m sure most of us don’t want to incur the cost associated with a denied warranty claim.

Definitely could find alternative kits for cheaper, possibly even better for a similar price. Just trying to piece the whole kit together as someone who is a newbie at aftermarket suspension parts and kits is difficult. This is the first new truck I’ve owned and I want to make sure I’m taking care of my “investment”.

Well said! Thanks for the input!

Got it. Checks out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Being an SR5 owner I decided to skip a full lift and go 5100 @ 1.4" in the front. Rolling the dice on any warranty claims associated with suspension, but couldn't think of anything that would break in the next 2.5 years due to my shock swap that I wouldn't be able to afford or fix myself 🤷‍♂️
If I was buying/building a brand new OR and had the choice to add it from the factory, I would probably choose that option as well.

I have a ‘24 SR5. I’m not trying to go heavy on a lift but just leveled and a bit taller would be perfect. I do a lot of commuting but want the ability to turn off the pavement without issues.

I threw the rear 5100s in yesterday and felt an immediate difference in the rear. Had someone do the front today since I don't have a compressor and didn't want to deal with it. Went with 1.4" in the front for minimal impact on angles and a little over 1/4" rake. Will pick up tomorrow.
Someone offered me free OR suspension, but there's this misconception that the ORs sit higher due to different suspension, but it's just the tires providing that extra inch of "lift".
Anyways, would love to hear what you end up doing. I'll let you know how the 5100s feel! They sure beat out all of the competition in that blind suspension test by Overland Outfitters.

Please do and post a picture! I’d love to see how it looks.

Is the Tacoma lift specific to this truck or the same as from the Tundra? I’m hearing some say it’s bespoke to the Tacoma and at the same time others say it’s the same as the one for the Tundra.

Also if these are bespoke are they picked off the rack shocks and springs that are rebadged or designed with special specs?

They are beefier than what comes on the other models. The kit also comes with longer cv axels.

It truly is a pretty nice kit. The UCA’s are the exact ones that come on the PRO and Trail Hunter just not painted. They were made by Rousch Performance which a lot of people do not know.

I stand corrected ! Thanks man.
What about shocks ? All I could find is that they were a monotube digressive TRD branded Bilstein. Last gen folks were saying they were essentially rebranded 5100s, but can't find any info about our gen.

They are Bilsteins and definitely beefier than stock. I’d assume they are comparable to something of the like of 5100’s
