What's interesting is how Toyota isn't pulling from the line.
When we had a Chevy that needed a part that wasn't yet in stock for repairs, the Chevy dealership had one quite literally pulled from the factory line and sent to them. It was a whopping two weeks to get it.
I asked the same question with Brand Engagement. I even volunteered to drive to central Mexico where the Trailhunter is made! Answer is that Toyota Japan has the factory and parts at the plant. They sell the vehicles to Toyota USA, and it's USA that's responsible for parts here. Separate legal entities. Why they can't 'sell' one harness is to simple for them!

It's wires and lights... Since they are separate from the trim piece , why can't they just use a "RH" and just twist/u-turn the wire at each lamp itself (that's what I wonder)?
Who knows!

Took me 9 months to get a more critical part then this for my truck that had something broken since delivery. Toyota brand engagement said the same thing parts come from Japan. Toyota also wasn’t interested in pulling a part off the factory line or even swapping me trucks. 9 months for the part

A lot of the parts going into Toyota products arrive at the factory the same day they are installed. Toyota just in time manufacturing saves them money, but means they can't pull parts or it all falls apart.

Our trucks are already sold, Toyota has to build more to make more money instead of making customers happy. Profit over customer satisfaction is the name of the game in a lot of stuff today.

Yep, just glad thjs is not a critical part.
