What's interesting is how Toyota isn't pulling from the line.
When we had a Chevy that needed a part that wasn't yet in stock for repairs, the Chevy dealership had one quite literally pulled from the factory line and sent to them. It was a whopping two weeks to get it.
I asked the same question with Brand Engagement. I even volunteered to drive to central Mexico where the Trailhunter is made! Answer is that Toyota Japan has the factory and parts at the plant. They sell the vehicles to Toyota USA, and it's USA that's responsible for parts here. Separate legal entities. Why they can't 'sell' one harness is to simple for them!

It's wires and lights... Since they are separate from the trim piece , why can't they just use a "RH" and just twist/u-turn the wire at each lamp itself (that's what I wonder)?
Who knows!

Took me 9 months to get a more critical part then this for my truck that had something broken since delivery. Toyota brand engagement said the same thing parts come from Japan. Toyota also wasn’t interested in pulling a part off the factory line or even swapping me trucks. 9 months for the part

A lot of the parts going into Toyota products arrive at the factory the same day they are installed. Toyota just in time manufacturing saves them money, but means they can't pull parts or it all falls apart.

Our trucks are already sold, Toyota has to build more to make more money instead of making customers happy. Profit over customer satisfaction is the name of the game in a lot of stuff today.

Yep, just glad thjs is not a critical part.

Quick update...now saying perhaps the end of May.🤔 I suggested to Brand Engagement that they buy the truck back since they can't seem to fix something as simple as thus wiring harness. They've started that process. They'll waste more time and money on thus than just getting me the wiring harness!

@brentbba what a complete and utter failure on Toyota's part.
Yep!!!!! They'll waste more time and money on evaluating my situation via warranty on the potential buy back than the cost of the harness itself, which is all of about $150 msrp! I'll probably get lowballed on that. Nothing short of a complete refund or trade with no money on a 2025 Trailhunter.

It shocks me that you still have not got this fixed. They are installing these every day as a PIO.

The issue as explained to me by Brand Engagement is that all the harnesses used in production at the factory in Mexico are property of Toyota Japan. Japan then sells the completed truck to Toyota USA. Toyota USA can't draw from inventory owned by Toyota Japan at the factory. You'd think since we're fairly sure that the lighting was DOA with the truck new that USA would have some recourse with Japan to fix the issue. We couldn't figure out how the bed scene lighting turned on when I picked up the truck new. It was the first one at the dealer and they'd had it for about 6 hours before I picked it up. Sales guy was reasonably familiar with all the settings you access thru the dash, but not the switch where you can set the bed scene lighting to on/door/off. Took me a month to get around to figuring it out via the manual and when I did, I took it in. Dealer where I live had it for almost 3 days ripping it apart testing all the electrical wiring before isolating it to a ground fault in the bed scene harness. Not having much info out yet, they ordered what they thought was the complete trim piece/lighting. That took from July to November, with intervention from Brand Engagement to get that part. It was the bed trim piece only, no wiring harness. They spent another day working with Toyota technical support to figure out the correct parts, both trim piece and harness as separate parts. Remember, that was November, 2024. Here we are in May, 2025 and we still can't source the damn wiring harness. Perhaps now end of May is what I'm being told.

It's beyond unacceptable at this point in my opinion to have such a total and utter lack of parts support from Toyota on a $65K truck! I've had it and have started the process with them to buy the truck back...all over a lousy $150 part!:mad::mad:

That is how I see your problem too. I can understand them not pulling from the production line and shit happens, so I don't blame them for the failure. But not being able to get you a part for months on end is just unacceptable IMO. The sell these as options for other trims, so it seems like they should have some way to fix this other than telling you to piss off.

I hear you! Just in Time manufacturing is something Toyota perfected. Every part and minute is planned which is why you cannot simply order a new vehicle.

My lights were installed at Port of New Jersey, not at factory. So these are out there in other locations besides Mexico.

When they sell as options, typically the truck hasn't been built and the factory has the parts. US parts warehouses don't.
