6 M/T Regrets ?

I never owned a car with an auto. Manual all the way. I wouldn’t worry about your age I am 68 bought my first truck/ Tacoma/6mt and love it. Ist to 2nd is a bit funky but you will figure it out. Go for it you won’t be disappointed.

4G autobox is super reliable (yes there were initial problems) and trans fluid change is not a big deal. Do it every 30,000 miles and will last longer than enough.

Forgive me if this was covered in the thread, but do manuals have automatic braking like the automatics? If so, if the Toyota safety sense slams on the brakes does it kill the engine?

It will auto brake as part of cruise control, unsure about emergency situations, I've gotten the alarm but no braking as part of that. I am yet to stall this truck, and haven't intentionally tried to see what happens.

Noted some reference to M/T and owners age - I just turned 80 and love my SR M/T - but then again no knee or leg issues - yet
