all terrain tires - Falken wildpeak at3wa?

I currently have Goodyear wrangler territory ht and was satisfied. Now I need to get new tires and was wondering what you guys thought about Falken wildpeak at3wa. What do you think is a better buy between michelin ltx trail or falken wildpeak at3wa. 95 percent pavement and 5 percent driving on sand to get to fishing spot. Thanks guys

Have you considered the Goodyear DuraTrac? I know it's an older tire, but they've always been good to me. Good tread life, very good in inclimate weather, not noisy and easy to balance.

I have the Falken Wildpeak AT4Ws on my Tacoma and on a diesel dually, and like them.

I have the AT3W'S on my 4runner and recommend them. I have no experience with the 4's but have seen on yt reviews that the AT4W's have regressed in winter (wet/snow) performance however. Lastly, the falkens are heavy and the AT4W's are even heavier than the 3's, so this will affect MPG's. My next tire will likely be the K03's.

I live in Canada, and found the AT4Ws good in the winter, albeit that was on a heavy dually. It has no issue with 6+ inches of snow. A 285/70/17 SL AT4W is 53 lbs. The same sized K03 in C load is 56 lbs.

Fuuny you mention DuraTrac..I am getting 255/75/17 DuraTrac RT in SL load installed Saturday. Never had GY tires before..

My experience with them has been the SL load. They do come in E load, but that's so unnecessary on a Tacoma and would beat you to death. I think you'll like them. Those sidewall lugs really help in deep snow....if that's something you have to deal with.

I’ve been on the fence between BajaBoss, Duelers, and DuraTracs for an all-year tire. I have to deal with deep snow, ice, slush/standing water/rain, and gravel and clay roads. I might have to bite the bullet and get two sets again.

Dedicated snow tires are superior in light snow, compacted snow, etc. But in deep snow, I found the DuraTracs to be just as good as any dedicated snow tire.

I’m coming from a Jeep where I had a dedicated set of studded winters. I know their worth, but I moved last year and have about 1/4th the storage of my last place. Tires take up a lot of space.

I certainly understand that. If I had no space for extra wheels/tires and had to run one all year, knowing winters would be rough, I personally wouldn't hesitate to run DuraTracs in the SL load range. Great all around tire.

I have AT3's on my old 4Runner. I liked them, so I installed AT4's on my Tacoma. I was under the impression the AT3's have been discontinued, and superseded by the AT4's.

If I remember correctly.. KO3s are only available in 10-ply loads, minimum, so will be heavier.
