My 24 Tacoma limited (non hybrid) 6 weeks old and 2000 miles the battery dies instantly. Dealer can’t get me in for two weeks and refuses a loaner vehicle. Good thing I have a good jump pack.My 24 TRD Pro dead after sitting for 2 weeks. Charged it with under hood connections per manual. Drove 3 days and now dead again - argh
What did the dealer say it was?after only 2-3 days sitting battery dies. Anyone else experience this issue?
They blamed it on the cold weatherWhat did the dealer say it was?
Great to hear this…..if you bought a brand new truck, have issues with it starting after 3-4 days take it to dealer where purchased…the truck has factory warrenty right ? You are paying for new truck, with factory warrenty, ….go to the Dealer, why piss around with trickle charge or question why it happens…..the dealer will diagnose it , fix it under warrenty….ugh….Had the truck towed from the house to dealer who replaced the 12v battery. Let’s hope it was the battery and not something else![]()
That depends on the model.. Looks like 24 HV didn’t have alternator but they are putting an alternator on some models of HVs in 25..No alternator on the hybrids.
That is what I normally think too, but several hybrid owners have been told by their dealers that their batteries are fine and that the truck going dead after a week is normal. One even said most vehicles do that today and they install trickle chargers all the time. You are paying for new truck, with factory warrenty, ….go to the Dealer, why piss around with trickle charge or question why it happens…..the dealer will diagnose it , fix it under warrenty….ugh….
