Hey everyone,

I dropped a video that answers one of the most common questions I’ve been getting since picking up my 4th Gen Tacoma Trailhunter:

👉 Do you actually need bed stiffeners, or is it just another overland “must-have” that gets hyped for no reason?

In this video, I break down:

  • Why bed stiffeners matter (or don’t) depending on your build
  • Real-world scenarios: overlanding, gear hauling, off-road flex
  • Exactly how to install them — no fluff, no BS

📺 Watch the full video here:

If you’re running a rooftop tent, drawer system, bed rack, or even thinking about airing it out off-road… this mod might save your bed from tearing apart (literally).

Would love to hear your thoughts — are bed stiffeners a must or myth for the Trailhunter? Drop your setup and experience below! 👇

I use a set of bed stiffeners. I have a Decked drawer system, RSI cap with a rack, an awning, and a RTT.

I frequently off-road in the middle of Idaho and have had all four generations of Tacomas. I have never heard of a bed "tearing apart" other than from hauling motorcycles that were improperly strapped down. Certainly, none of mine has been damaged.

Not so much from gear IN the bed, but from the 500 pounds of camper shell and roof top tent and other shit that are sitting ontop of the sides of the bed.

If you aren't loading up your bed sides with 500+ lbs you dont need to worry about it.
